The Newlyweds
Jonah and Shelby
West Overton Village

A Uniquely Married Moment

Jonah and Shelby decided on a ceremony that was deeply personal, highlighted by the heartfelt moment they shared their hand-written vows. This is a tradition I truly cherish, as it instantly elevates the ceremony with a profound, authentic touch. By writing their own words, they didn't just exchange promises; they created timeless keepsakes. They now possess those very vow books as gifts to one another, filled with their personal commitment. These treasured books will not sit on a shelf; they are a living tradition. Each year, on their anniversary, they can open those books, read the original promises, add more if they choose, and recite their vows again, keeping their commitment fresh and vibrant for decades to come.

A Uniquely Married Moment

Kenneth and Madison exchanged vows on Monday, September 29th, at the stunning Oak Lodge in its gorgeous rustic chapel. Their union was sealed with a meaningful three strands unity ceremony, symbolizing the joining of the couple with God. Each strand represents a different entity: one for the bride, one for the groom, and the central, strand for God. Braiding the three together signifies that with God at the center, the marriage is stronger and can't be easily broken, a beautiful commitment of faith woven into their marriage. The joyous ceremony concluded with the memorable sound of the chapel's church bell ringing, announcing their new life together as husband and wife to the world.

They spoke movingly of their difficult journey to this point, sharing that the challenges they overcame led them to a profound and unshakable understanding that now forms the strong foundation of their love. To symbolize their union, they incorporated a handfasting ceremony using a beautiful, braided cord—a powerful, ancient ritual that represents a couple's ability to work together and love each other through all that life brings.

The Newlyweds
Dustin and Irene
Sunset Room
at the Vista

A Uniquely Married Moment

The wedding of Dustin and Irene was a perfect reflection of their playful spirits. Instead of a traditional guest book, they created a unique and interactive display for their guests. A large, Lego board was mounted on an easel, its surface a blank canvas waiting to be filled. Beside it, a large bowl overflowed with colorful Lego minifigure pieces—tiny heads, torsos, and legs. Guests were invited to write their name on a name plate, assemble a minifigure and place it on the board, leaving a whimsical and permanent mark of their presence. The result was a vibrant, mosaic-like collage of tiny plastic people, each one a testament to the love and creativity shared on their special day, and a playful reminder that we never know who among us secretly loves Legos.

Another touching moment came when the groom, Alex, knelt to make a series of loving promises to Nessie, the bride's five-year-old daughter. The normally vivacious girl became shy for the occasion, her bashfulness showing as she extended her hand for Alex to slip a small ring onto her finger as a symbol of his special bond to her. But after the ceremony, she ran to him with the joyous embrace they'd always shared and solidifying this family of three. (Pictures by Leeann Marie Photography)

The Newlyweds
Jaimie and Jake
Southpointe Golf Club

A Uniquely Married Moment

No one picks up golf expecting to meet the love of their life—but that’s exactly what happened for Jaimie and Jake. She was working the bread pudding booth. He was teeing off nearby. A few well-timed nudges from friends sparked a conversation that led to six sweet years of laughter, brunches, travel—and yes, many rounds of golf. Jake taught Jaimie the game… until she started beating him. They celebrated their union on the patio of, you guessed it, Southpointe Golf Club, with over 150 guests, vowing a love rooted in joy, trust, and the continued magic of serendipity. Some say love is like golf—challenging, humbling, and worth every swing.

The Newlyweds
Patrick and Stefanie
Sheraton Station Square

A Uniquely Married Moment

What a joy it was to marry Patrick and Stefanie at the Sheraton Station Square! They chose to include a beautiful Engagement Ring Ceremony as part of their ceremony. This meaningful tradition involves the bride removing her engagement ring before the exchange of wedding bands. Afterward, the groom places the engagement ring back on her finger, making it the anchor that will now hold the wedding band closest to her heart. This practice originated from the belief that the engagement ring represents the couple's shared journey and flowing love, with the left ring finger thought to have a direct connection to the heart. It's a truly touching way to honor their past, present, and future together.

The anticipation built as the grandparents, parents, and an adorable ringbearer made their entrance, each step a testament to family and love. Then, as the music swelled, the bride made her beautiful entrance, captivating everyone with her radiant walk. This thoughtful reimagining of the ceremony entrance not only honored loved ones but also perfectly set the stage for a heartfelt and memorable exchange of vows.

A Uniquely Married Moment

Kara and Christopher were married on May 31, 2025, at the Grand Estates at Hidden Acres in Freeport, PA with umbrellas close by. With under 100 beloved friends and family gathered, the atmosphere was intimate and warm. Despite an on-again, off-again rainy day, we found the perfect window to hold the ceremony outdoors. The couple, both wonderfully shy, opted for sweet simplicity: no readings, no unity ceremony, just heartfelt "repeat after me" vows and the exchange of rings. It was clear how happy and comfortable they were, surrounded by loved ones who respected their quiet nature. This understanding made their special day even more beautiful and, truly, perfectly theirs.

After exchanging vows and rings, they performed a Love Letter and Wine Box Unity Ceremony. Inspired by the reading The Art of Marriage—especially the line, “The courtship should not end with the honeymoon…”—they sealed heartfelt letters and a bottle of their favorite wine into a keepsake box. Intended to be opened during challenging times or on milestone anniversaries, the box symbolizes their commitment to love, communication, and lifelong growth. It was a tender ritual—honoring their past, celebrating their present, and offering hope for their future—one glass of wine and one love letter at a time.

The Newlyweds
Colton and Alyson
Hartwood Acres

A Uniquely Married Moment

It was an honor to be the officiant for Alyson and Colton's beautiful wedding at Hartwood Acres on May 9, 2025. The sun was shining, faces were smiling, and this wasn't your typical mansion ceremony; instead, the couple chose the rustic charm outside the horse stables. As I performed their handfasting ceremony, "tying the knot" took on deeper meaning. I couldn't help but reflect on the countless knots tied throughout history on this very land—by the equestrians securing their horses, mending equipment, and working in harmony with their horses. It was a powerful reminder of enduring bonds, mirroring the lasting commitment shared by the newlyweds in this unique, historically rich setting.

I absolutely love it when couples add something unique and fun to their ceremony, and this one was a delight. Green Gables

A Uniquely Married Moment

The groom's initial call carried a mix of worry and disappointment that was sadly not new to me. Learning that their original officiant had unexpectedly withdrawn just two weeks prior to their wedding, had now cast a shadow over what should have been a time of pure excitement. Stepping in, my priority was to not only fill the gap, but to also work with the other wedding professionals to restore the joy and anticipation they deserved. As we got right to work on the ceremony, weaving in personal anecdotes and heartfelt sentiments, I could see their relief and excitement blossoming. And on the big day, when they stood before each other exchanging the vows they had so thoughtfully written, the raw emotion in the air was truly profound. The moment transcended the initial setback and culminated into a beautiful, authentic happily ever after.
